Many large families don’t want to make the transition to driving minivans, so several are curious about the ins and outs of 7 passenger sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Most are curious as to which car companies make them, if they always seat 7 or adjustments have to made, such as third row seats installed, the price ranges they come at, and about the gas mileage they provide.
Most of the car companies produce 7 passenger SUVs in different size ranges. SUVs’ such as Fords Flex and Explorer, Jeeps Grand Cherokee, and Toyota’s Highlander are some of the smaller options of 7 passengers.
When wishing to utilize that option in those vehicles, a third row seat option will have to be purchased. Since these are the smaller of this type of SUVs, they give about 13-14 mpg in the city and 19-20 on the highway.
Much larger options are also available in vehicles like Chevrolet’s Tahoe series, GMC’s Yukon series, and Toyota’s Sequoia.
These vehicles all have 7 passenger seating, sometimes more, while providing plenty more extra space for luggage and bags. These larger vehicles are not quite as efficient, they average 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
Because of the impact of good gas mileage and emissions on the environment, as well as the higher cost of fuel, many companies are now making these vehicles available in hybrid models, significantly improving their gas mileage and making their purchase more practical for families.
These vehicles come standard beginning at around $28,000 and just continue to go upwards from there depending on the model and the options purchased with the vehicle.
